Fly to New York City where you transfer to your hotel for two nights.
The 'Big Apple' is one of the world's most exciting cities, buzzing with atmosphere and packed with fascinating sights and great shops. On today's sightseeing tour, see New York City's major attractions including Broadway, the Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, bustling Chinatown, City Hall, Wall Street and Trinity Church. This evening choose from the many fine restaurants the city has to offer or enjoy one of the famous Broadway shows.
Leave Manhattan and head north-west through the renowned Pocono Mountains and the scenic farmlands of upstate New York. Later this afternoon, cross the border and proceed to the Canadian side of the Niagara River in the province of Ontario.
Actually comprised of three waterfalls, Niagara Falls is an essential bucket list experience – a surging, exhilarating panorama of cascading water. See the thundering columns up close from the decks of a sightseeing cruise and then from scenic points along the rim of the gorge. Your afternoon is free to visit local attractions such as the Butterfly Conservatory, Great Gorge Adventure, Botanical Gardens and Niagara Parks Greenhouse. Don’t miss the chance to ride the aerial cable high above the racing Niagara River.
Head south-east, through the Appalachian Mountains and into the Susquehanna River Valley. Then it's on to the handsome city of Philadelphia for an overnight stay.
The 'City of Brotherly Love' is also the birthplace of American Independence, and is therefore steeped in history. The morning orientation tour focuses on the city's historic landmarks. There will be free time in which you can visit Independence Hall, see the Liberty Bell and other sites within Independence National Historic Park. Afterwards, continue to the US capital and seat of government, Washington DC.
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour with a local guide that includes a visit to Arlington National Cemetery and see the graves of American heroes, including those of John F Kennedy and his brother Robert. After, visit the Lincoln Memorial with photo stops at Capitol Hill and the White House. Afternoon and evening are at leisure. Why not visit historic Union Station for a great international lunch.
