Coach Tours of Eastern USA
Take a Bite Out of New York - The 'Big Apple'
This exciting piece of fruit is first on most people's list for a visit to the Eastern United States and usually their first stop. An exciting city break on it's own or as part of a longer tour. Visit Rockefeller Centre and go to the Top of the Rock to get one of the best views in New York City. A view which includes the Empire State building is more iconic than actually looking out from it. How about the Chrysler Building, dazzling Times Square or even Grand Central Station? It’s like being on the set of so many movies we’ve all seen. We recommend an open top bus tour of New York which is included in many itineraries. See a Broadway smash hit musical or one of the many off Broadway shows. You can purchase tickets on the day from the TKTS booth in Times Square. Unsold show tickets are usually available at up to half price face value. In the daytime visit the High Line which is New York's newest public park, so called because it is on the site of a former elevated railway. There are unique views to be had. New York City is made up of five boroughs. Brooklyn is where most cruises arrive. Manhattan which we all recognise from the skyline, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. See the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park or take the free Staten Island ferry or a tour boat trip for a closer view. After all that maybe you still have time for shopping on Madison Avenue at famous stores like Macys and Bloomingdales. You can also choose to escape the crowds and visit a top museum or even admire the architecture of the New York public library.
Boston Tea Party
You can pick a tour that visits Boston, one of the USA's oldest cities. Find out why they call it ‘Beantown’, Take the Freedom Trail, a two and a half mile route of notable historic sites that tell the story of the birth of a nation. The world's largest cup of tea was made in Boston Harbour in 1773 when the cargo of the East India company was dumped in protest. Home to Harvard University, America's oldest founded in 1636. Experience Philadelphia, named by WIlliam Penn from a Greek word meaning 'city of brotherly love'. Go and see where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed. Run up the steps of the art museum made famous in the Rocky movie. There are plenty of 'firsts' to discover and Philadelphia is the only World Heritage City in the United States.
Capital Idea
Washington DC, the nation’s seat of power and capital could be your final stop on some of our tours. See the President’s official residence, the White House. View the Capital Building and the Washington Monument as well as the Lincoln Memorials and those of WW2.
That Very Big Waterfall
Some of our Eastern USA coach tours include a visit to Niagara Falls. This amazing wonder of nature is on the border between the USA and Canada, but most people agree they are best viewed from the Canadian side. Your tour of the USA’s East Coast may well stay overnight in Canada, so be sure you have the necessary visas or Electronic Travel Authority for both countries.
